Each year, local school counselors nominate kids in need at their schools and the Gilbert Fire & Rescue Department selects 50 deserving kids to attend the event. Most of the families that show up with their child to shop have other siblings with them that are in desperate need as well. The fire department sets aside extra gift cards to allow as many as possible of these siblings to shop for clothes, but they don't have the funding to support all of them. My "Why" is to raise money to make sure all of the siblings can shop, and also to get more of the nominated kids from the counselors to be able to participate in this incredible annual event. This is why I've created the non-profit "Bands 4 Backpacks". I will send a Bands 4 Backpacks wristband to everyone who donates, and no donation is too small. 100% of all money raised will go to this event. Every $150 equals another deserving kid that gets to shop, or a sibling that gets to shop with their sister or brother.
