My Mission

My name is Whitney Connor, and I have been volunteering at Gilbert Fire & Rescue's "Shop With a Firefighter" event since I was in elementary school. This event has always had a major impact on my life and has helped to shape who I am today. Now that I am older, I want to be able to do more to help out, which is why I have created the non-profit Bands 4 Backpacks.

My Vision

Every kid deserves to feel special and cared for. The goal of my project is to raise money to donate to the "Shop With a Firefighter" event so more deserving kids in need can participate. Every $150 raised means another kid can shop, and 100% of proceeds will go towards the event. New clothes are the first step towards feeling confident, and confidence inspires success in education.
